Streaming Well was commissioned to create a film to demonstrate the challenges faced by a patient living with eosinophilic asthma and bring their perspective into the ongoing conversation.
The challenge was to tell Patricia’s personal story while ensuring that we stayed within the parameters of the approved medical claims.
This film was shot in Tennessee, so we took advantage of our US team to handle this project. We spent three days filming the patient, Patricia, and her family on their farm and around the small town she lives in.
We filmed Patricia doing some of her favourite hobbies, like hiking, photography, and cooking, because it was important for us to show the impact her asthma has had on her life. It was difficult hearing her family describe how she struggled to do the things she loves.
There was a lovely dynamic among Patricia and her family, so we worked hard to ensure that we could record interviews with everyone. We worked quickly to film several different interview setups, as well as a green screen interview with her doctor at another location. The unity of their family quickly became a driving concept of the film.
The shoot wasn’t without its challenges though: on our second day of filming, it started to rain quite heavily. Thankfully we were well-prepared, and with some quick thinking, we were able to stick to the schedule and shoot some great footage.
We delivered two videos to the client, and they were very pleased with both the internal and external versions. It was very moving to hear about Patricia’s story and we’re pleased we could share her experience with eosinophilic asthma to global audiences.
